چکیده

• GNP incorporated in alumina matrix to deposit composite coatings via SPS. Raman analysis confirmed retention of as-processed coatings. Improved mechanical and tribological properties achieved for Wear mechanisms monolithic coating were revealed. Graphene possesses high fracture toughness excellent lubrication properties, which can be exploited enhance performance systems utilized combat wear. In this work, suspension plasma spray (SPS) process was employed a composite, graphene nano-platelets (GNP) coating. For comparison, also deposited utilizing identical conditions. The as-deposited characterized detail their microstructure, porosity content, hardness, phase composition. the GNP. showed good microstructural integrity, comparable porosity, higher similar composition as subjected dry sliding wear tests. lower CoF specific rate than pure Additionally, counter surface case Post-wear performed by SEM/EDS differences track ball Furthermore, presence micro-indentation test results indicate that aided improving toughness, lowering compared Results from work demonstrated an SPS processed coating, further design superior wear-resistant

Sintering of Fine Particles in Suspension Plasma Sprayed Coatings

Suspension plasma spraying is a process that enables the production of finely grained nanometric or submicrometric coatings. The suspensions are formulated with the use of fine powder particles in water or alcohol with some additives. Subsequently, the suspension is injected into plasma jet and the liquid additives evaporate. The remaining fine solids are molten and subsequently agglomerate or ...

Suspension Plasma Sprayed Titanium Oxide and Hydroxyapatite Coatings

The paper aims at development of TiO2, Ca5(PO4)3OH (hydroxyapatite, HA) and their multilayer coatings onto stainless steel, titanium and aluminum substrate using suspension plasma spraying. The total thickness of the coatings was in the range 10 to 150 μm. The suspension on the base of distilled water, ethanol and their mixtures was formulated with the use of fine commercial TiO2 pigment crysta...

Effect of TiO2 addition on the microstructure and nanomechanical properties of Al2O3 Suspension Plasma Sprayed coatings

Alumina-titania coatings are widely used in industry for wear, abrasion or corrosion protection components. Such layers are commonly deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) using powder as feedstock. In this study, both Al2O3 and Al2O3-13 wt% TiO2 coatings were deposited on austenitic stainless steel coupons by suspension plasma spraying (SPS). Two commercial suspensions of nanosized Al2...
